Meet Your Current Board Members
The elected POA Board Members will serve a critical role in leading and directing efforts in our community. They will volunteer their time and resources to serve our community. May we all join together to say, "Wow, this is a great place to call home or visit." Thank you Board members for serving The Hills at Queens Gap in this capacity. It is a pleasure to introduce these dedicated servants to you.

My wife Deb and I built our first house in The Hills of Queens Gap in 2012. I was one of the original board members elected when the POA was formed. I feel very fortunate to have found this community and the people in it. Whether I was on the Board of Directors or not, I have always tried to help out with anything needed. After some time off the board, I have decided to offer my services again in an official capacity. I have always enjoyed working with the association and hope I can contribute again.

I started coming to Blairsville 15 years ago with my wife BJ. We instantly fell in love with the people and beautiful mountain scenery and moved here permanently in 2015. Our home in Queens Gap SD (Lot 77) is now our primary focus. We feel blessed to have found this bit of paradise along with the great people who make up our neighborhood here in North Georgia. I enjoy motorcycling, running, gardening/landscape projects, and hiking.
Initially trained as an Electronic Technician while in the US Navy, I worked for various defense contractors after I got out performing everything from equipment overhaul, maintenance and installation to setting up and running a sheet metal fabrication shop. I eventually shifted careers and received my B.S. Degree in Computer Science from the University of West Florida in 2000. After working as an Information Technology Specialist for 10 years responsible for the operation of computer networks and Advanced Electronic Classrooms at the Navy’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal School on Eglin AFB in Florida, I retired in 2014. I actively managed my Florida rental properties for over 25 years, doing everything including roofing, electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry in addition to all my own book keeping and tax preparation. I also served on the Buckridge Home Owners Association Board of Directors in Fannin County where we owned a cabin for 10 years.

I was born and raised in upstate New York outside of the small village of Cazenovia. After college and my marriage to Candee, I spent five years as civilian employed at the Naval Air Engineering Center in Lakehurst, NJ – think Hindenburg. Then nine years in the Binghamton, NY area employed by a Washington DC company providing engineering and logistics support to various defence companies. In 1990, I and three others broke away and started our own company where I remained as President until my retirement in 2008.
The NY snow, cold, and exorbitant taxes sent us to Sarasota where we remained for 11 years. Too much traffic, too many people and a nasty home owners association led us to look elsewhere. While in Sarasota, I was elected to the board of our home owner's association, received my HOA Director Certification and served as secretary for two years prior to deciding to move. We had heard great things about the north GA mountains so stopped in the area while enroute back to NY for the summer. Candee and I found the most wonderful people, beautiful scenery, and the Hills at Queen's Gap. We bought, we moved, we are here to stay.

Married to wife, Hope, since 1990. Have two adult sons, a plumber in Omaha and a nurse-in-training in Florida. Spent 44 years in the Boston MA area (too cold), followed by 13 years in the Tampa FL area (too hot), and have been here in NE Georgia since 2020 (just right!). I spent 39 years in the software development industry, creating everything from mainframe applications through to mobile (phone, tablet) apps. I still dabble in mobile apps. Hope climbed the ladder to management in the insurance industry, followed by being a stay-at-home mom for the boys, followed by a 2nd career working her way up to management at Busch Gardens Tampa. I enjoy hiking, off road biking, and kayaking (as soon as I buy one!), and everything outdoors - gardening, yard maintenance, etc. We realize the special area and people that make up Blairsville and Queens Gap, greatly appreciate it, and are blessed to be among you.

I was born in Boston, Massachusetts but hail from Oberlin, Ohio. I met my lovely wife Norma while attending the University of Kentucky. I have served 12 years in the army as a Medical Corpsman, Military Police, and Computer specialist. In my 38 years as a civilian, I worked as a Field Service Engineer and a Video Systems Engineer. Norma and I have lived 35 years in Colorado Springs, CO. After looking at the Hills of Queens Gap and just two lots, we settled on lot 133. We built our home and am loving our new retired life.

I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana about 35 miles from Chicago. After graduating from high school in 1977, I worked for Leo Burnett Advertising Agency in Chicago as an Administrative Assistant for 8 years and then moved to Savannah, Georgia. In Savannah, I worked as an Office Manager at a Commercial Real Estate Developer. In 1995, my career path changed and I earned an Associate in Science in Radiologic Technologies at Armstrong Atlantic State University. After graduating, I worked as an MRI technologist for over 10 years. At that point, I went back to college and earned my Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences with a minor in Biology at Armstrong Atlantic State University. I then completed my Master of Science in Radiologic Science at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. After graduation, I began my 15-year teaching career in Radiologic Sciences at Armstrong Atlantic State University/Georgia Southern University. I met my husband, Tom, in Savannah and we’ve been married 37 years. We enjoy camping and hiking. We’ve always loved coming up to the North Georgia mountains and found our perfect forever home here in Queens Gap.
